About Robert Ziegler

Bob Ziegler is a co-creator of change with over twenty-five years’ experience as a manager and consultant in the fields of international community development, high-technology, manufacturing, biological research, adult education, cross-cultural dialogue, and leadership development. After a successful career managing documentation and training departments for a number of US high technology firms, Bob relocated to Nova Scotia in 1989 and provided technical consulting, workforce-training, and publications management through the early 1990s. He then co-founded and directed a private career college which provided intensive training to hundreds of workers in the health sector, particularly personal care workers, home support workers and community mental health workers. After securing an M.Ed. from Acadia University – specializing in coaching and organizational change – Bob co-founded and co-directed the Shambhala Institute, a world-class leadership development initiative based in Halifax.

Bob has received extensive formal and informal training in coaching, facilitation, adult education, leadership, and organizational development.

In 2003, Bob co-founded and has since served on the Steering Committee of Envision Halifax, an innovative community leadership initiative dedicated to building an extraordinary society in the Greater Halifax area. He is a proud alumnus of the second annual leadership program, which focuses on discovering inherent capacities, innovating collaboratively, and designing and hosting strategic conversations.

In 2005-2007, Bob was a volunteer with the Village Partnership, an Israeli-Palestinian initiative that seeks to repair some of the damages associated with the occupation of the West Bank. The partnership involves direct, person-to-person collaborations and projects around sustainable agricultural rehabilitation, legal advocacy, community development, and trauma healing. In 2005, Bob co-facilitated an Israeli-Palestinian dialogue with the Center for Individual Reconciliation and Recovery.
