What’s the story behind these calligraphies?

Each page of this website is “decorated” with a calligraphy I had done myself. This was not so much a matter of being economical (which it was) – more importantly, I find something pleasingly definite about what comes out of a brush and ink. You can’t erase or backspace; you can’t Photoshop the result (or at least I didn’t). To me it’s like leadership – there are moments when as a leader you are on the spot, and there’s no time for rehearsal. So it is with brush and ink – the result tells the story of how you got there quite plainly.

You are free to interpret them as you like, but I wouldn’t. They were created fairly spontaneously, and later I matched them up to the page topics. Nothing more profound than that.
